Welcome to the Pine Landing Subdivision at Landing Court — before Jordan Marx, Bob Marx, and Rachel Snyder came to La Pine, and after. Of all the hats I have worn in this industry and all the projects I have been part of, this subdivision sits at the top of the list. It is something else to watch a community take shape over the span of eight years — and these three photographs, taken almost to the day across that stretch, tell the story better than I can.
The timeline: The photos below were captured on June 1st, 2018, June 2nd, 2021, and May 31st, 2026 — the same view of Landing Court, eight years apart.
How It Started
It is hard to imagine that it has been eight years since I closed on this low-density residential 2.25-acre parcel. The land underneath those nine houses sat on the market for 700 days before I closed on it — nearly two years that most people would have walked past. Where others saw a parcel that wouldn't move, I saw the footprint of a neighborhood.
Nine homes now stand where a 700-day listing once sat. That is the part of this work I will never get tired of — turning patience and a plan into a place people call home.

Watching this community develop — from bare ground in 2018, to framing and first families in 2021, to the established street it is today — has been one of the most rewarding things I have been a part of in Central Oregon. It is a reminder that the best opportunities are often the ones sitting quietly on the market, waiting for someone willing to see them through.
